David Tyers is a British motorsport artist whose work captures the spirit of speed and competition through bold, expressive forms and dynamic technique. Born in Corby, England, David discovered his passion for art at an early age, beginning with watercolour on paper and slate before developing a strong foundation in drawing. This early dedication led him to pursue a college degree in drafting, equipping him with the technical precision that underpins his artistic practice.

After graduating, David trained as an apprentice and later worked as a craftsman for British Rail, contributing to the maintenance and detailing of the Royal Train. Following his service in the British Army, he emigrated to British Columbia, Canada, where he spent much of his time inventing and producing patent drawings, further refining his craft and technical creativity.

Over the years, David balanced a career as a heavy-duty mechanic with his growing passion for visual art. Today, his work focuses on abstract expressionism in motorsport, utilising acrylic paint and palette knife to convey motion, energy and the visceral excitement of racing. His paintings are both energetic and evocative, portraying iconic figures, machines and moments from the world of speed.

David’s work has gained international recognition and has been exhibited in numerous group shows and exhibitions. He has been represented by Arte Cavallo in Montréal, Canada, and has featured in publications and media worldwide, including Redline Summer 2025 (UK), Graining F1 (Spain), Blackbird Automotive Journal (Hong Kong), and Fueler Canada Magazine. He is also a member of the UK Guild of Motoring Artists.

In addition to gallery representation and publications, David’s work has been featured in notable motorsport-related art collections and experiences, including pieces shown at Escapade Silverstone, a prestigious art gallery located within the iconic Silverstone Circuit that showcases contemporary motorsport artworks by international artists.

David’s limited-edition prints are individually numbered and signed under his artistic pseudonym S60, and his original works include vibrant tributes to legendary figures and machines of motorsport. In September 2025 he returned to the UK and now works from his home studio in Market Harborough.

Through his innovative fusion of abstract expressionism and motorsport passion, David Tyers continues to build a distinctive voice in contemporary automotive art, celebrated by collectors, enthusiasts and galleries around the world.
